Fisherman's Point is a truly unique private property on the picturesque Hawkesbury River, a mere hour's drive from Sydney. Owned by the same family for three decades and available for the first time to be used solely for exclusive rentals.
The main house itself is perched on a cliff with dramatic views of the river and bush in every direction. It can be described as contemporary Australiana at its best.
The Main House has been newly renovated to allow a contemporary open-plan layout. The house is very large with two areas for dining outdoors and one indoor, set against the backdrop of sandstone quarried from within the property. There are multiple separate areas to enjoy inside the house including a spacious lounge with a huge sandstone fireplace, a discrete TV area with blu-ray, a pool table and a fully equipped chef’s kitchen.
1 minute walk from the Main House, nestled behind trees for privacy is the rustic timber and stone cottage. Used traditionally as the overflow house for guests, it is a self- contained double bedroom cottage with a kitchenette, lounge, tv, stereo system, bathroom and a private wrap-around verrandah with breathtaking views! Additional trundle bed can be arranged at request.
In 2000 the old Knox school camp was acquired and this now forms part of the property. It is used as the base for “Outward Bound” excursions at different times of the year where they undertake weekends of outdoor skill building activities. It is useful as an overflow house for guests if the property has been pre-arranged for such an occasion. The accommodation is simple boarding house style, with a mixture of double rooms and bunk-bed rooms.
There is a fully equipped chef’s kitchen, BBQ and a whole river of fish to catch! Bream, Flathead, Mud Crabs, whiting, prawns and squid are all abundant in the Hawkesbury River.
Locally, there is a fabulous and famous restaurant, ‘Pete’s Bite’, just opposite the property, which is reached by a five- minute boat ride. Seaplanes fly here throughout the day from Sydney, dropping people off for lunches or functions. Within reasonably close proximity, there are two other well- known restaurants, Berowra Water’s Inn (40 mins) and a little further away, Cottage Point Inn (50mins). To visit these you will need to book a water taxi on the following number:

We use a mixture of bore water and rain water so although it is perfectly ok to drink, bottled water is also provided for your stay.
Same as food, it is necessary to bring beverage supplies with you for the entirety of your stay. Optionally, we are happy to stock the house for you with advanced notice.
At an additional charge and when available, guests can be taken on a beautiful champagne barge cruise up the local creeks and waterways. This is a truly stunning experience where you can enjoy all that nature has to offer, including natural orange groves and a refreshing swim in the Murramurra.
